Overview
This independent practice explores how fragments — a character, an object, a phrase, a gesture, a street sign — can suggest larger stories.
The work moves between observation, material experimentation and image-making, with a recurring interest in ambiguity, atmosphere and the narratives that emerge from everyday encounters.
Selected Lines of Research
➤ Narrative objects: character-based works exploring balance, presence and implied action, including an equilibrist work selected for Argentina’s National Visual Arts Salon.
➤ Urban signs and found stories: Ciudad Oráculo (Oracle City), a photographic sequence built from texts, reflections and objects encountered while walking through Buenos Aires; and Medio Pez, a series of poems emerging from street photography.
➤ Characters and visual worlds: illustration, drawing and writing developed outside the constraints of commercial briefs.
Relevance
This independent practice strengthens the visual and narrative judgment Lau brings to product development and creative production, while providing a space for experimentation beyond commercial work.
